Il canale Göta è un canale svedese costruito all'inizio del XIX secolo. Ha costituito la spina dorsale di una via navigabile lunga circa 614 km, collegando una serie di laghi e fiumi per fornire un percorso da Göteborg sulla costa occidentale a Söderköping sul Mar Baltico attraverso il fiume Göta älv e il canale di Trollhätte, attraversando i grandi laghi Vänern e Vättern.
Il canale stesso è lungo 190 km, di cui 87 km sono stati scavati o fatti esplodere, con una larghezza che varia tra i 7 e i 14 m e una profondità massima di circa 3 m. Ha 58 chiuse e può ospitare imbarcazioni lunghe fino a 32 m, larghe 7 m e con un pescaggio di 2,8 m. Il canale Göta è un canale gemello del Caledonian Canal in Scozia, anch'esso costruito da Thomas Telford.
