La Nuova Russia è stata la tentata federazione tra le repubbliche popolari di Doneck e di Lugansk, proclamata il 24 maggio 2014 attraverso un referendum e poi sospesa il 20 maggio 2015, nel contesto della guerra dell'Ucraina orientale.
In questa regione nel 2005 vivevano approssimativamente 7 milioni di persone. Nel novembre 2014 secondo l'ONU si contavano più di un milione di sfollati e più di 4.000 vittime.
