L'oblast' della Transcarpazia è una delle 24 Regioni dell'Ucraina. Corrisponde alla regione storico-geografica della Rutenia subcarpatica.
L'oblast' ha una superficie totale di 12800 km² e si trova sulle pendici sud-occidentali e sulle colline pedemontane dei Carpazi che coprono circa l'80% dell'area della regione. Il resto della regione è coperto dalla pianura di Transcarpazia che fa parte della pianura pannonica. La Transcarpazia è l'unica oblast' ucraina a confinare con quattro paesi diversi: Polonia, Slovacchia, Ungheria e Romania.
