L'Università di New York è un'università privata con sede a New York. È considerata una delle università più famose e prestigiose del mondo. La sede principale della NYU si trova nel Greenwich Village di Manhattan. Fondata nel 1831 è una delle più grandi istituzioni private di istruzione postsuperiore negli Stati Uniti.
L'università è organizzata in 18 facoltà, collegi ed istituti situati non solo a New York tra Manhattan e Brooklyn, ma in tutto il mondo. Essa offre ai propri studenti la possibilità di studiare all'estero presso i campus a Londra, Parigi, Firenze, Praga, Madrid, Berlino, Accra, Shanghai, Buenos Aires e Tel Aviv, oltre al campus di Singapore della Tisch School of the Arts e un campus globale di arti libere ad Abu Dhabi che è stato aperto a settembre 2010.
