The foundation stone was laid in 1900 and in 1902 the building, already conceived as a retirement home, was completed. The façade of the building has remained virtually unchanged over the years. Inside, of course, renovation work has been carried out several times, but always with respect for the unique setting of the building. The building has recently been renovated. The building has recently been transformed into a modern retirement home with 43 single rooms, two rooms for couples and 6 service flats.
