De Remigiusstraat in Simpelveld is een van de zware obstakels in de Amstel Gold Race. Ook was deze straat beslissend in het Nederlands kampioenschap wielrennen in 1976 toen Jan Raas de rood-wit-blauwe trui veroverde. In de volksmond heet deze helling "De Paardendoder" omdat in het verleden een trekpaard het omhoog slepen van een volgeladen kar niet overleefde. De Remigiusstraat is 1100 meter lang. Het stijgingspercentage is bijna constant rond de 10%
