Planté il y a trente ans, le bois Leiebos est situé le long de l’ancien bras de la Lys de Wevelgem. Le domaine est géré par l’Agence flamande « Nature et Forêts » (ANB). On peut s’y promener, et une zone de jeux invite les enfants à s’écarter des sentiers. De plus, la nature peut prospérer librement, et l’ancien bras de la Lys offre à bien des pêcheurs un emplacement pour lancer leurs cannes. Sous le pont de l’autoroute E403, l’endroit a été embelli par des conteneurs colorés.
Het Leiebos langs de oude Leiearm van Wevelgem werd dertig jaar geleden aangeplant. Het Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos beheert het gebied. Je kunt er wandelen en er is een speelzone waar je van de paden mag afdwalen. Verder kan de natuur haar gang gaan. Langs de oude Leiearm vinden heel wat vissers een stekje om hun hengel uit te werpen. Onder de brug van de E403 werd de plek opgefrist met kleurrijke containers.
