De Nördliche Taurach is een rechter zijrivier van de Enns. Het is een van de twee rivieren die Taurach worden genoemd, die beide in de buurt van de Radstädter Tauernpas ontspringen, maar in tegengestelde richtingen afwateren. De twee valleien die van de Tauernpas naar beneden lopen, worden ook beide Taurachtal genoemd. Samen verbinden ze het Ennstal met het Murtal in noord-zuid richting.
