De plaats ligt 31 kilometer ten zuidwesten van Landeck, ongeveer 6 km het dal in van Ischgl en goed 1 km achter Mathon, ongeveer halverwege Ischgl en Galtür, aan de linkerkant van de Trisanna op een hoogte van ongeveer 1500 m boven zeeniveau. Valzur is statistisch geclassificeerd als een rotte; de in Tirol gebruikelijke benaming voor dergelijke nederzettingen is Weiler. Oorspronkelijk bestond de plaats uit twee gedeelte, Obervalzur en Untervalzur, waarvan laatstgenoemde in 1999 grotendeels door een stoflawine is afgezonderd. Bij de plaats hoort ook het bedrijventerrein Valzur onderaan aan de Silvrettastraße.
