De Sint-Walburgakerk bezit een oude bouwgeschiedenis. De oorsprong ligt wellicht in de 9de eeuw, herbouwd in de 13de en 14de eeuw in gotische stijl. De dwarsbeuk werd voltooid in 1907 in neogotiek. In de kerk is er een prachtig vroeggotisch koor met koorgestoelte, koorommegang en straalkapellen. Voor de kerk staat de onvoltooide gotische westertoren (14de eeuw). In 1966-1967 werd het orgel van de Veurnse Sint-Walburgakerk ingrijpend gerestaureerd. Het orgel wordt tijdens het Internationaal orgelfestival Veurne-Westkust door bekende organisten bespeeld.
