De kapel, die oorspronkelijk een zeshoekig grondplan had, werd onder impuls van Ernestine de Ligne in de zeventiende eeuw gebouwd na een epidemie van de builenpest. Nadat de kapel die oorspronkelijk iets zuidelijker stond, afbrandde, werd ze in haar huidige vorm, in neogotische stijl, heropgebouwd in 1891 en aan onze-Lieve-Vrouw en Sint-Rochus gewijd. Ondanks de strakke opbouw biedt het gebouw aan de binnenzijde een ruime indruk. De neogotische beelden en de kleurrijke glasramen brengen hier enige afwisseling. In het begin van de maand juli wordt hier onder ruime publieke belangstelling een noveen gelezen.
