Velaine-sur-Sambre is een sectie van de Belgische gemeente Sambreville, gelegen in het Waals Gewest in de provincie Namen.
Velaine-sur-Sambre ligt op een hoogte van 159 meter. In tegenstelling tot wat zijn naam aangeeft, stroomt de Sambre niet meer over het grondgebied van Velaine, of beter gezegd, stroomt ze niet meer. Enkele eeuwen geleden had Velaine zijn molen vlakbij de straat Grogneau. Later is de Sambre gekanaliseerd en omgeleid en stroomt ze niet meer door Velaine.
