Velaine-sur-Sambre is a section of the Belgian municipality of Sambreville located in the Walloon Region in the province of Namur.
Velaine-sur-Sambre is situated at an altitude of 159 meters. Contrary to what its name indicates, the Sambre River does not flow through the territory of Velaine, or rather it no longer does. Several centuries ago, Velaine had its mill at the level of Grogneau Street. Subsequently channeled, the Sambre was diverted and no longer flows through Velaine.
