Het station van Beveren-Waas werd op 26 februari 1845 in dienst genomen en ligt op spoorlijn 59. In de begin jaren was er enkel een verbinding tussen Sint-Niklaas en het Vlaams Hoofd (Antwerpen) maar al snel groeide deze spoorlijn verder uit richting Gent en uiteindelijk verder door tot in Oostende. In eerste fase bestond het station uit een kleiner gebouw dat in 1902 vervangen werd door het huidige stationsgebouw. Het gebouw besaat uit een centraal gedeelte en twee korte zijvleugels. Het station lag ook aan de gasfabriek die een eigen toegangsspoor had voor de bevoorrading van kolen.
