Op deze plaats, op de hoek van de Ten Bunderenstraat en de Oude Heiweg, stond vanaf halfweg de 13de eeuw het "Gasthuis ten Bunderen", waar 4 vrouwelijke religieuzen zich inlieten met de opvang van pelgrims. Tijdens de Beeldenstorm (1578) moesten ze de wijk nemen naar Rijsel. Op de plaats van het verwoeste Gasthuis staat nu een hoeve. In de wei ernaast, links, zijn nog de fundamenten bewaard van een der kloostergebouwen.
