From the middle of the 13th century, on this spot, on the corner of the Ten Bunderenstraat and the Oude Heiweg, stood the "Gasthuis ten Bunderen", where 4 women religious were involved in the reception of pilgrims. During the Iconoclasm (1578) they had to flee to Lille. On the site of the destroyed hospital there is now a farm. In the meadow next to it, on the left, the foundations of one of the monastery buildings have been preserved.
