Dit stadspark loopt van aan het trein-metrostation van Simonis tot aan de Basiliek van Koekelberg. Het oorspronkelijke plan was om een "groene verbinding" te scheppen met de landelijke buurgemeentes van Brussel. Alhoewel dit plan al in de jaren 1860 ontwikkeld werd, zou het nog tot 1880 duren voordat de aanleg kon beginnen.
Sinds 1985 loopt de Leopold- II Tunnel onder het park. Dit belangrijke verkeersadder tussen de Kleine Ring (R20) en de Grote Ring (R0).
Vandaag de dag is het Elisabethpark een echte groene oase middenin in de hectische stad. De Tour de Campus van de ehb gaat ook doorheen het park. Het is aangeraden om hier even halt te houden.
Het park is iedere dag geopend.
