De kerk van Neerlinter is toegewijd aan Sint-Follianus. Volgens een oorkonde uit 1139 bestond deze kerk reeds lang. De kerk diende verscheidene keren herbouwd te worden. Nu eens omdat ze te klein was, dan weer omdat ze was afgebrand (een paar keer) of omdat een ijzeren kruis door het dak stortte. Vandaag vraagt het daarom enig speurwerk om delen van de kerk in een bepaalde eeuw te situeren.
