Thieu is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Henegouwen, en een deelgemeente van de Waalse gemeente Le Rœulx. Tot 1 januari 1977 was het een zelfstandige gemeente. Het dorp ligt aan het Centrumkanaal en is vooral bekend omwille van zijn scheepsliften.De 89-ste bisschop van Doornik, Jean-Joseph Delplancq, werd hier in 1767 geboren.De Nederlandse componist, Matthijs Vermeulen, zat in Thieu enige tijd op het seminarie bij de jezuïeten.
