Dit imposante en dubbel omwalde kasteel dateert van voor 1641, maar kreeg zijn huidige uiterlijk in 1885.In 1700 kwam de Heerlijkheid in het bezit van Gillis Dons, heer van Scheldewindeke en stamvader van de familie Dons de Lovendeghem. De monumentale Kasteeldreef met dubbele rij eiken en het gezellige pleintje aan het gemeentehuis leidt van het kasteel naar de Brugse Vaart.
