De Kapellekensbaan is de weg waarlangs de fabrieksarbeiders uit de gelijknamige roman zich begeven om naar hun werk te gaan. Het beeld van 'de lange, lange muur' dat Boon van de liberale dekenfabriek de labor schetst in De Kapellekensbaan, ontleende hij aan de eveneens liberale maar pas in 1922 opgerichte leerlooierij van Schotte in Erembodegem.
