Antwerpen bouwde de Christus-Koningkerk voor de Wereldtentoonstelling van 1930.
De Jan Devoslei bestond niet eens. Hier werd een deel van de tentoonstellingen en manifestaties gehouden. De kerk was omgeven door een rozentuin. Koning Albert 1 en koningin Elisabeth gaven de start van de exposities.
Nadien - en tot op vandaag – werd het een parochiekerk. Ze is gebouwd in moderne Art Deco stijl, met hedendaagse glasramen. Architect Jos Smolderen liet zich voor decor en koepels inspireren door de basiliek van Koekelberg die tegelijk tot stand kwam. De slanke toren is in 1975 ingekort omdat de spits bouwvallig was. Het Orgelcomité Kristus-Koning organiseert concerten om het monumentale orgel van Klais (1930) in de kijker te stellen.
