Het oorspronkelijk Koninklijk Chalet werd na zware beschadiging tijdens WO II in 1953 afgebroken. De koninklijke familie logeerde in deze villa vanaf 1957. Vanaf 1973 werd er een hotel en restaurant in ondergebracht. Sinds mei 2004 werden deze activiteiten stopgezet en momenteel is dit een oncologisch revalidatiecentrum.
