In het Koekelarebos is een 8 ha groot arboretum ondergebracht. In het bos komen tal van monumentale bomen voor. Vele soorten bomen en struiken worden er opgekweekt. Enkele Koekelare dennen zijn al 126 jaar oud! Het Koekelarebos heeft een wandelpad van 4,5 km en is vrij toegankelijk voor wandelaars. Bij het bos is een groot speelplein voor de allerkleinsten en iets oudere kinderen.
