Het COOVI Metrostation werd gebruikt in de film "WikiLeaks" The Fifth Estate. The Fifth Estate is een biografische thrillerfilm uit 2013 geregisseerd door Bill Condon, over de nieuwslekkende website WikiLeaks. In de film speelt Benedict Cumberbatch de hoofdredacteur en oprichter Julian Assange, en Daniel Brühl de voormalig woordvoerder Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
In de scène geschoten in het COOVI Metrostation stappen ze allebei uit. Ze zijn op de vlucht nadat Bradley Manning (later bekend als Chelsea Manning) honderdduizenden documenten naar WikiLeaks lekt, inclusief een video van een luchtaanval in Bagdad, de Afghaanse en Irak-oorlogslogboeken en 250.000 Amerikaanse diplomatieke conversaties.
Je kunt de grote muurfoto's van het COOVI Metrostation waarop een man naar je wijst, duidelijk herkennen. Het grappige is dat je een achtergrond omroepstem hoort met een Nederlands accent (geen Vlaams). De stem zegt iets over platform 4, dat niet bestaat in het COOVI Metrostation.
