Het Hoofdstedelijk Atheneum Karel Buls is een overheidsschool voor secundair onderwijs gelegen te Brussel. Zij maakt deel uit van de scholengemeenschap van het Brussels Nederlandstalig onderwijs.
De Brusselse Normaalschool werd opgericht bij besluit van de gemeenteraad van 29 maart 1874. Karel Buls, in 1881 burgemeester van de stad Brussel en eerste directeur van de Modelschool, kende een belangrijke plaats toe aan het onderwijs van het Nederlands in de scholen van de hoofdstad.
