Deze begraafplaats is genoemd naar een nabijgelegen boerderij die door Britse eenheden als ‘Cement House’ werd aangeduid. Cement House Cemetery is een voorbeeld van een concentratiebegraafplaats. Het was lange tijd ook de enige Commonwealth begraafplaats waarvan het register openbleef voor het bijzetten van nieuwe graven. Alle Britse slachtoffers die in recente jaren gevonden werden in het industrieterrein langs het kanaal, werden en worden hier begraven.
