De Hoge Blekker (33 ha) is de blikvanger van onze kust en daaraan heeft hij ook zijn naam te danken. Met zijn 33 meter is hij de hoogste duin van heel de kuststrook. Het was een vaste baken voor de zeelui die van ver al zijn witte kruin zagen blinken ('blekken' in het plaatselijke dialect). De Hoge Blekker is een stevige stuifduin die in de loop der tijden al heel wat afstand heeft afgelegd.
