De Maenhoudthoeve werd gebouwd midden 17de eeuw, maar een oude balk in de nok van de schuur draagt zelfs het jaartal 1256! De restauratie van de monumentale schuur werd afgewerkt in 2016. Pas als je er binnenstapt voel je de grootsheid van dit prachtige bouwwerk in hout en steen, waar warm licht binnenvalt. Een witte reus in een prachtig groen landschap. Schrijver Stijn Streuvels was meteen fan toen hij er voorbij voer. Aan de noordkant van het wagenhuis van de hoeve ligt een merkwaardige dijk. Hij moest de hoeve beschermen voor kunstmatige overstromingen vanuit Oostende. De Maenhoudthoeve is een privéwoning en buiten speciale gelegenheden niet toegankelijk!
