La Maenhoudthoeve fu costruita a metà del XVII secolo, ma una vecchia trave nel culmine del fienile porta addirittura l'anno 1256! Il restauro del monumentale fienile è stato completato nel 2016. Solo entrando si percepisce la grandezza di questa splendida costruzione in legno e pietra, dove entra luce calda. Un gigante bianco in un meraviglioso paesaggio verde. Lo scrittore Stijn Streuvels ne è subito diventato fan quando ci è passato davanti. Sul lato nord del rimessaggio della fattoria si trova un'imponente diga. Doveva proteggere la fattoria dalle inondazioni artificiali provenienti da Oostende. La Maenhoudthoeve è una residenza privata e non è accessibile se non in occasioni speciali!
