Deze woontoren werd gerestaureerd in 1984 en is een vroeggotisch vierkant gebouw, in witte Gobertangesteen, dat als woning diende voor de plaatselijke heren. De Donjon was de zetel van een heerlijkheid die afhing van de hertog van Brabant. Vroeger bestond deze donjon uit een kelder, een verhoogd gelijkvloerse verdieping die het eigenlijke woongedeelte vormde, en een eerste verdieping of slaapruimte. In 1568 maakte een brand de woontoren onbewoonbaar en vandaag blijven alleen de 2 onderste verdiepingen bewaard. De Donjon kan bezichtigd worden in de hoek Overhemstraat met Sint Ermelindisstraat te Meldert.
