Waar de Scheldedijk overgaat in het lager gelegen Briel wordt de weg over een korte afstand langs weerszijden begrensd door een rij geschrankte okkernoten. Het aanplanten van notelaars op en in de buurt van de dijk is een oud gebruik dat hier opnieuw werd geïntroduceerd.
