Ten zuiden van de dorpskern van Kapellen ligt een weiland met dertien opmerkelijke knotbomen. Deze hoger gelegen locatie is historisch bekend als de Drogeweide. Het betreft acht zomereiken (Quercus robur), en twee knotwilgen (Salix sp.)langsheen de Bergeveldstraat. Deze knotbomen zijn beeldbepalend, vooral omwille van hun hoogte en representatieve groeivorm. De grootste knoteik heeft een stamomtrek van 3,21 meter op 1,50 meter hoogte gemeten en bij de grootste knotwilg 2,89 meter. Lager in het weiland staan nog drie knotessen.
