Description

Sterk gerestaureerde hoeve, in kern opklimmend tot het derde kwart van de 17de eeuw; de benaming duidt op het oude gehucht en de nabijgelegen brug, zie straatnota; destijds toonvoorbeeld van de typische Kempische hoevebouw. Oude oorsprong: reeds in documenten van 1403 en 1453 vermelding van de naam "sc(h)ore"; in 1671 gedeeltelijk herbouwd, vermoedelijk in opdracht van de Sint-Michielsabdij van Antwerpen; de Ferrariskaart (circa 1775) vermeldt 't Schoor als "Schor Cabaret" (herberg); de op oude kaarten uitgestrekte "Schoorse heide" tussen Hal in het zuiden en het Heike in het noorden behoorde waarschijnlijk toe aan "'t Schoor".
