Kasteel opgetrokken in 1847 door architect François Coppens (Brussel). In groot park met vijver gelegen en in een neoclassicistische- en neo-renaissancestijl gebouwd in opdracht van Baron August Pycke de Peteghem, naar verluidt met gelden uit de erfenis van Clemmen (+ 1841) uit Gent. Gelegen op circa 300 meter van "'t Oud Kasteel" (zie Scheldestraat nummer 5). Omliggend domein voor 1980 gedeeltelijk aangelegd als golfterrein voor de "Golf en Countryclub" met uitbreidingen begin 1990.
