De geschiedenis van de site van Aigremont gaat ver terug in de tijd en wordt ook nu nog aangehaald in heel wat legendes. Aigremont was toen een echt fort en behoorde initieel toe aan de kerk van Luik. In 1715 verwerft de kanunnik Mathias Clercx de heerlijkheid. Hij bouwt er een kasteel dat bestemd was als buitenverblijf. Het Office du Tourisme van Flémalle nodigt u uit om kennis te maken met een opmerkelijk voorbeeld van de Luikse architectuur van het begin van de 18e eeuw.
