Onmiddellijk aan de rand van het hoogplateau Hoge Venen ligt het kleine alpineskicentrum Ovifat met in totaal vier sleepliften en 4 pistes. Als de sneeuwlaag het toelaat zijn de inrichtingen vanaf 9u30 open en zowel beginners als ervaren skiërs komen aan hun trekken. Natuurlijk is er geen vergelijking mogelijk met de pistes van de grote wintersportcentra maar als "opwarming" voor de grote wintervakantie zeker leuk en ook voor een dag- of weekenduitstap zeer interessant. Wie graag wil langlaufen kan ter plaatse materieel huren en heeft aansluiting met de pistes van de Hoge Venen.
