De Gemeentebossen vormen samen met het Molenbos een uitgestrekte zone met vooral naaldbomen en hier en daar wat recreatiemogelijkheden voor jeugdgroeperingen. De bossen werden lange tijd als productiebossen beheerd, waardoor de vegetatielagen slechts matig ontwikkeld zijn. Drieboomkensberg is een andere naam voor deze omgeving.
