Description

Ook deze meersen kleuren in het voorjaar geel en roze met dotterbloemen, koekoeksbloemen en grote ratelaar. Het reliëf van landduinen en oeverwallen valt erg op. Het dichte netwerk van sloten heeft de Meersbeek als centrale waterloop en werd aangelegd tijdens de vroege middeleeuwen. Bunzingen, hermelijnen, wezels, steenmarters en sinds enkele jaren ook vossen en reeën vinden hier een thuis. Typische weidevogels zoals kieviten, wilde eenden, kuifeenden, krakeenden en gele kwikstaarten broeden in het gebied.
