De majestueuze koepel van het al even majestueuze Godshuis domineert het hele dorpszicht van Sint-Laureins. Het gebouw werd opgetrokken om dienst te doen als weeshuis. Als snel werd er een klooster in ondergebracht.
Sinds 1992 stond het gebouw op een vreselijke manier te vervallen. Gelukkig kochten enkele jaren geleden twee moedige projectontwikkelaars het gebouw en werd begonnen aan een moeizame restauratie. Nu zijn in het indrukwekkende gebouw verschillende feestzalen ingericht.
