Le majestueux dôme du tout aussi majestueux Godshuis domine toute la vue du village de Sint-Laureins. Le bâtiment a été érigé pour servir d'orphelinat. Très vite, un monastère y a été installé.
Depuis 1992, le bâtiment était en train de se dégrader de manière affreuse. Heureusement, il y a quelques années, deux courageux promoteurs immobiliers ont acheté le bâtiment et ont commencé une restauration laborieuse. Aujourd'hui, plusieurs salles de fête ont été aménagées dans ce bâtiment impressionnant.
