In het Meudonpark vind je een van de oudste gebouwen van Brussel: de Romaanse toren uit de 12de eeuw. Die toren is het enige restant van de oude Sint-Pieter-en-Pauluskerk, die in 1936 afbrandt.
In de middeleeuwen is deze kerk de parochiekerk van het dorp Neder-Over-Heembeek. Sinds 1920 maakt deze vroegere landbouwgemeente deel uit van Brussel-stad. Als je de route vervolgt, trekt de historische ontwikkeling van Neder-Over-Heembeek aan je voorbij. Je ziet landbouwgronden en boerderijtjes, maar ook oude arbeidershuizen, bel-etagewoningen uit de jaren 1950 tot 1990, en woontorens uit de jaren 1960 en 1970.
