De Grignard-hold is een oud gekruist meander van de Sambre, gelegen stroomopwaarts van Lobbes. Hier is er een aquatische en oevervegetatie van groot regionaal belang: gemeenschappen van gele waterlelies (Nuphar lutea) en kleine waterlelies (Hydrocharis morsus-ranae), hoornbladruig (Myriophyllum spicatum), fringed megaforbia, rietbed met grote glycera (Glyceria maxima), enz. De zandstenen rotsen die de noordelijke oever van de greppel domineren, hebben tal van varens, waaronder de zeldzame zwarte adiantum (Asplenium adiantum-nigrum). Een nabijgelegen nat weiland herbergt een interessante hygrophiele flora met de valse oenanthe (Oenanthe fistulosa) en de dwergscutellaria (Scutellaria minor). Samen vormt dit een opmerkelijk transect dat behouden moet blijven!
