Description

De Sint-Lambertuskerk van Muizen werd op 23 november 1944 grotendeels verwoest door geallieerde bombardementen. De bewuste V1-bom spaarde enkel de toren die later werd beschermd als monument. Kort na het einde van de oorlog, in 1949, werden tijdens een opgravingscampagne sporen van diverse oude kerken teruggevonden, waarvan de oudste uit de 8e à 9de eeuw stamt. In de jaren zestig ontwierp Lucien Engels, met medewerking van kunstenaars als Rik Poot, een nieuwe kerk in modernistische stijl.
