Aan het begin van de Hendrik Consciencelaan trekt de pittoreske villa Duinrust de aandacht. Deze ruime vakantiewoning is een van de oudste in Bredene. Ze werd gebouwd in 1908 voor een Gentse antiquair. Bepaalde details van de villa, zoals een steen met jaartal 1650 in het bordes van de toegangstrap en de leeuwtjes op de omheining, zijn wellicht te verklaren door het beroep van de opdrachtgever.
