Het oude stadhuis van Turnhout, zowel lakenhal en vleeshal, als raadzaal voor gemeentebestuur en vierschaar, was een vrijstaand gebouw aan de zuidzijde van de markt, gelegen in de as van de Herentalsstraat. In kern minstens opklimmend tot de 14de eeuw, werd het herhaaldelijk door brand geteisterd, onder meer in 1716, waarna het in classicistische stijl werd heropgebouwd; in 1936 werd het als monument beschermd doch in 1962, na de bouw van het huidige stadhuis, om "verkeerstechnische" redenen gesloopt.
