Langs het jaagpad van het oude kanaal tref je stevige palen aan die diep in de grond vastzitten. De vrijwilligers van GR maken er nu gretig gebruik van om hun rood-witte markeringen van de GR12 Parijs-Amsterdam er op aan te brengen. Maar voordien werden die gebruikt om schepen op sleeptouw te nemen en die zo verder te trekken.
