De geheime Vlaeykensgang dateert van het jaar 1591 en verbindt de Oude Koornmarkt en de Pelgrimstraat met elkaar. Als je door het poortje aan de Oude Koornmarkt 16 stapt, waan je je in een andere tijd.
Vroeger was de gang het domein van schoenmakers, die de noodklok van de kathedraal moesten luiden, en woonden hier de armsten van de stad. Nu vind je er antiekwinkeltjes, kunstgalerijen en het restaurant Sir Anthony Van Dyck. Er heerst een ingetogen sfeer en de gang is een geliefde plek om te luisteren naar de zomerse beiaardconcerten.
