Langs de 'Kapelroute' in Lichtervelde staat het kleine monument ter nagedachtenis aan Jim Cowan die op 3 oktober 1918 neerstortte. Het is gelegen nabij de emissietoren van Lichtervelde op het hoogste punt van het dorp en vlakbij het Huweynbos.
Veldkruis met kruisbeeld, genaamd Verduyns kruis, staand in de Beverenstraat te Lichtervelde nabij hoeve 't Kolonhof. Voor het kruis staat een betegeld oppervlak dat met traliewerk omheind is. Twee borden bij het kruis verwijzen naar een Brits oorlogsvliegtuig dat hier op 3 oktober 1918 neerstortte. De Australische piloot Jim Cowan lag indertijd naast het kruis begraven.
