Along the 'Chapel Route' in Lichtervelde is the small monument in memory of Jim Cowan who crashed on 3 October 1918. It is located near the emission tower of Lichtervelde at the highest point of the village and near the Huweynbos.
Field cross with crucifix, called Verduyn's cross, standing in the Beverenstraat in Lichtervelde near farm 't Kolonhof. In front of the cross is a tiled surface enclosed with latticework. Two signs near the cross refer to a British warplane that crashed here on October 3, 1918. The Australian pilot Jim Cowan was buried next to the cross at the time.
